Filters for LEDs

White, green, and red LEDs with certain spectral emissions can be filtered with our High Temperature Polymeric (HTP) filters to produce displays that comply with various NVIS color coordinates and NVIS radiance (NR) specifications as described in MIL-STD-3009.

Filter choices for many different applications

Our polymeric ring filters are an ideal choice for filtering discreet thru-hole LEDs. Our opaque side wall filters for top emitting SMD Type LEDs help reduce the effects on unfiltered stray light while our filtered side wall filters can harness side-emitted collateral light for applications where NVIS light flooding is desired.

We list a variety of sizes as a reference. Keep in mind that we can machine any of our filter types to meet your specific dimensional requirements at no additional cost.

Please note that stray unfiltered light emitting from the bottom of the LED can cause NVIS radiance (NR) to fail. Potting may be required to light-seal the assembly. Don't hesitate to contact us for adhesive and opaque potting material recommendations best suited to your application.
